Several regions of the country are currently, on Friday (July 3), at high risk of wildfires (Risk Category 3), according to the fire risk forecast map issued by the Fire Department.
High temperatures, combined with weather conditions that favor the spread of fires, are keeping the risk elevated in several areas of the country.
For this reason, the relevant authorities are urging citizens to exercise extreme caution, avoid any activity that could cause a fire in the countryside, and strictly follow the instructions of the Civil Protection Agency.
Specifically, the areas at high risk (Level 3) are as follows:
Attica & Kythira, Euboea, Boeotia, Phocis, Corinthia, Argolis, Elis, Laconia, Aetolia-Acarnania, Kilkis, Lefkada, Kefalonia, Ithaca, Zakynthos, Lesbos, Chios, Psara, Samos, Ikaria, Crete, the Dodecanese, and parts of Fthiotida, Magnesia, Achaea, Messenia, Chalkidiki, and Thessaloniki.
