Disruptions to eight flights following reports of drones
Earlier this morning, Nuremberg Airport experienced disruptions due to reports of a possible drone sighting. According to police, three pilots independently reported that they had spotted an unidentified object during takeoff or landing.
Airport authorities immediately launched an investigation in cooperation with the German air traffic control agency. A police helicopter was also deployed in the operation, but no drone was located.
During the investigation, temporary disruptions to flights were reported. According to an airport spokesperson, six flights were delayed, including two arrivals and four departures.
In addition, two aircraft bound for Nuremberg had to make precautionary landings in Cologne and Prague, respectively, before later continuing their journey to their original destination.
So far, it has not been clarified whether the incident involving the flight from Corfu is linked to previous reports of possible drone activity.
