Protests organized in a number of Italian cities took place today (10/24), featuring slogans against high prices and the war, as well as clashes.
In Rome, clashes broke out a short while ago between police and protesters near the Termini train station.
A small group of protesters, at the end of the march against Italy’s support for the ongoing wars, threw bottles and firecrackers at police officers, who responded with water cannons.

Tensions were reported in Milan, but—at least so far—there has been no vandalism or looting, and no infiltration by violent, masked protesters.
At the anti-war and anti-austerity demonstration held in Turin, members of the “Askatasuna” social center attempted to change the agreed-upon route of the march, and police forces used batons and tear gas.
