Donald Trump assured that Russian President Vladimir Putin “will not attack NATO territory,” during a conversation with reporters on Thursday at the White House.
“I’ve had good conversations with him. He will not attack NATO territory,” the U.S. President emphasized.
Earlier today, the Kremlin described the reports published in the U.S. press—according to which the CIA Director traveled to Moscow this week to prevent Russia from attacking NATO—as “scare stories.”
The U.S. President stated yesterday that the CIA director’s visit was not related to Russian threats against NATO, implying that it was connected to Ukraine.
Earlier today, however, Donald Trump told Axios, during a telephone interview he gave, that there would be no such attack and that CIA Director John Ratcliffe was not sent to Moscow to deliver any specific message.
“Ratcliffe meets with his Russian counterpart every six months or once a year. They have a very good relationship. There was no message, and there was nothing out of the ordinary,” Trump emphasized.
