The World Bank announced today in a statement that it has disbursed $200 million in emergency aid to support the Colombian government, as the South American country was struck by a powerful earthquake that left at least 265 people dead.
“On August 13, the World Bank disbursed $200 million in emergency aid. The group also launched a rapid assessment to determine the cost of the earthquake in order to help the government obtain an initial estimate of the economic impact” of the earthquake, stressed the Washington-based international financial institution.
