Iran categorically denied that it had fired missiles at the United Arab Emirates, following Abu Dhabi’s accusation that two ballistic missiles had targeted the country’s ships in the Gulf. The renewed tension in relations between the two countries led the UAE to decide to suspend all trade and financial transactions with Tehran.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei stated that Tehran “categorically rejects the United Arab Emirates’ claim that Iran launched a missile against that country.”
At the same time, he described the accusation as detrimental to trust among countries in the region, as well as to efforts aimed at restoring regional security.
The Iranian diplomatic response came after Abu Dhabi accused Iran of launching two ballistic missiles that targeted United Arab Emirates ships in the Gulf on Tuesday.
