Donald Trump’s appearance at the Texas-Tennessee game began with a spectacular moment, as the presidential aircraft Air Force One flew over “Neyland Stadium” in Knoxville shortly before kickoff. The aircraft’s flyover of the stadium was captured on video, and the U.S. president subsequently arrived at the stadium to watch the big college rivalry game up close.
Air Force One flew over “Neyland Stadium,” where thousands of fans had gathered for the game between No. 1 Texas and No. 14 Tennessee, providing a spectacular sight before the game began.

Shortly afterward, Donald Trump landed and made his way to the stadium, where he watched the game from his suite. The president’s presence had been announced several days earlier and was yet another factor that gave the big game a special atmosphere.

Donald Trump has attended several major sporting events during his two terms in office.
Among other events, he attended Game 3 of the 2026 NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden, between the Knicks and the Spurs, as well as the World Cup final at MetLife Stadium this past summer.
He also attended the College Football Playoff championship game when Indiana finished its season undefeated against Miami last January.

Trump’s presence prompted special security measures
The game had already generated a lot of interest before the president’s scheduled appearance, as Texas’ young quarterback, Arch Manning—who is considered a potential top pick in the upcoming draft—was looking to build on his team’s strong start.
However, the president’s visit also required special adjustments for both teams, particularly regarding the coaches’ communications.
Texas coach Steve Sarkisian had warned as early as Thursday that the teams needed to be prepared for potential issues.
“The one thing you need to know when the president attends any game is that every time he enters the stadium, leaves it, or changes his seat inside the stadium, all communications are cut off,” he said.
“The coaches’ headsets are cut off. Communication between the coach and the players is cut off. You have to have a plan for this—if and when it happens—and you get no warning. It just cuts out,” he added.
