A South Korean court sentenced former First Lady Kim Keon-hee, who is already serving a prison term for a separate corruption case, to an additional seven years in prison on Friday in connection with a scandal involving the offering of jobs in exchange for gifts.

Kim was found guilty of accepting “high-value precious metals” in exchange for favors in personnel appointments, according to the ruling, which was broadcast live.
