For Bill Gates, these aren’t simply systems that execute commands. They are intelligent systems that we feed with knowledge, which they then utilize and disseminate without limits.
And this power is precisely the danger that—according to the tech mogul—threatens to alter the very nature of humanity or potentially wipe it out. Because machines may not pose a threat on their own, but what if they fall into the wrong hands?

The statement is shocking, with Bill Gates clarifying that artificial intelligence in the hands of dangerous people could lead to cyberattacks, biological warfare, or attacks on critical infrastructure.
He cites these scenarios not to demonize AI, but to emphasize that self-regulation is not enough and that taking measures is therefore more than just necessary.

The message is directed at the Trump administration, which views AI as a field of strategic competition and is fighting to gain the upper hand over China, rather than rushing to establish safety regulations, before machines become more powerful than our ability to control them.
And that is exactly what he is urging the U.S. President to do.
