The main international airport in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, along with three other airports, announced that the suspension of operations has been extended until at least 6:00 p.m. (local time; 2:00 p.m. Greek time) due to a volcanic eruption, which is preventing tens of thousands of travelers from reaching their destinations.

Due to “increased volcanic activity at Mount Anak Krakatau, flights at many airports have been suspended; we advise passengers to check the status of their flights regularly,” by contacting the airlines, Angkasa Pura, the airport operator, stated via social media.
