The U.S. military today denied reports from Tehran that a tanker had been immobilized after striking two mines in the Strait of Hormuz.
Iranian state television, citing a statement from the Revolutionary Guards, reported earlier that a supertanker burst into flames and was immobilized in the southern part of the Strait while attempting an “illegal passage.”

“The Revolutionary Guards Corps says that a supertanker traveling along the southern route of the Strait of Hormuz struck two mines and was completely immobilized. ‘This is false,’ the U.S. Central Command (Centcom) stated in a post on Platform X, referring to misinformation. “No ship struck mines in the Strait of Hormuz,”
