It has now been confirmed that at least ten people have lost their lives, and more than 2,000 have seen their homes suffer serious damage due to a storm that brought heavy rainfall, high waves, and strong winds in Chile since July 15, the Latin American country’s government announced yesterday, Monday.

So far, the toll stands at “ten dead, four missing, and 17 injured. “We have 2,422 people affected,” Alicia Sembrian, director of Chile’s National Emergency Management Agency (SENAPRED), told the press.
