The Lebanese Army vowed today to defend peace in the country, the day after a demonstration by supporters of the pro-Iranian Hezbollah against the signing of the framework agreement between Lebanon and Israel aimed at achieving “lasting peace.”

“The army command will not tolerate any breach of security or any threat to peace in the country through actions with unpredictable consequences, road blockades, or attacks on public or private property,” the army emphasized in a statement.
