At least nine people were killed and another 19 were injured in a bomb attack that took place yesterday at a café in Damascus, according to information received by the German Press Agency (dpa) from health authorities in the Syrian capital.
The bombing took place yesterday at noon at a café located near the Courthouse in the Al-Hamidiya neighborhood of Damascus.
Mohammed al-Tawil, head of the bar association, told dpa that the café was a regular gathering place for lawyers. Among the dead are six lawyers, while several injured people are in critical condition.
The governor of the Syrian capital, Maher Marwan, told reporters that an improvised explosive device had been detonated, adding that security services are reviewing footage from security cameras in the area in order to track down the perpetrators.
