A boat carrying migrants sank off the coast of Tunisia, and the fate of at least 13 people remains unknown, according to the head of a Tunisian NGO.
The boat had departed on Thursday bound for Italy.
One of the two survivors recounted that he spent hours in the water after the boat capsized. The second survivor is in critical condition.
Tunisia was previously a major departure point for migrants hoping to reach Europe. However, over the past two years, their numbers have declined due to stricter controls.
The central Mediterranean sea route is considered the most dangerous in the world. According to the International Organization for Migration, at least 872 people have lost their lives or been reported missing so far this year.
