While U.S. airstrikes against Iran continue tonight, the channels of diplomacy between Washington and Tehran appear to have now closed.
This is evident from today’s statements and social media posts by President Trump, who makes it clear that the U.S. will continue to strike targets of the Revolutionary Guards and that he no longer intends to force Tehran to return to the negotiating table. It is noteworthy that President Trump told American media that the Strait of Hormuz is under complete control and that it is set to be renamed the “Trump Strait,” and that he no longer intends to sign an agreement that would in reality be a “dead letter.”
Israel: All Fronts Open
Meanwhile, in Israel, all fronts remain open.
Specifically, on the Gaza front, as part of an IDF commando operation, the head of the organization’s intelligence services, Muein Al-Arabid, who is already recovering, according to Israeli media reports.
Today, Netanyahu inspected Israeli forces stationed in the Gaza Strip and made it clear that Israel will not withdraw from there unlessHamas is not fully disarmed.
Meanwhile, the international humanitarian organization FCC announced today that it will organize a new flotilla of activists in October. The flotilla’s route will begin at a port in Portugal, make stops at ports in Spain and Italy, and end in Gaza with the aim of breaking the Israeli naval blockade. Israel has not yet responded to the issue.
On the Lebanese front, Israeli airstrikes against Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon continue with undiminished intensity. For weeks now, the goal of Israeli operations has been to bring the Ali-Tacher mountain range, where the Lebanese organization is alleged to have built underground command centers and weapons depots. However, Hezbollah has made it clear in repeated statements that it has no intention of surrendering the mountain range.
Finally, regarding the Iranian front, Israeli air defenses were once again placed on high alert as early as yesterday afternoon.
In his remarks today, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz expressed the view that as economic pressures on the Tehran regime intensify and as the Jewish religious holidays of Rosh Hashanah (next week), followed by the Day of Atonement (“Yom Kippur”) and the ten-day festival of Tabernacles (“Sukkot”) —the greater the likelihood that Iran will decide to launch a new attack against Israel.
