Tehran is now warning France and Britain about the Strait of Hormuz.
Amid the popular pilgrimage to Ali Khamenei, where threats and curses against the U.S. and Israel are being hurled, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi warned that “the Strait of Hormuz is not a stage for extra-regional powers to engage in gunboat diplomacy.”
Gharibabadi’s warning came after the United Kingdom and France announced that they were prepared to support freedom of navigation in the Strait.
“Iran, as a responsible power and guarantor of security in the Strait, cautions against any military action in this waterway, stating that it will not tolerate any military adventurism under its supervision,” Garibabadi stated on social media.
“Security here belongs to the coastal nations and to them alone. Let there be no doubt: those who created this crisis will be held accountable for the consequences of their adventurism. Those who fan the flames of the crisis will be consumed by the fire they ignite. This is not a suggestion; it is a warning,” the Iranian official stated.
