Three years since Hamas's brutal invasion of Israel

In the early hours of October 7, 2023, Palestinian terrorists invade Israel. The “Supernova” music festival and Jewish kibbutzim are turned into bloodbaths.

At least 1,200 people are killed, hundreds are wounded, and 251 hostages are taken to Gaza. This was the deadliest attack in the country’s 75-year history, marking the beginning of one of the most devastating wars of the 21st century.

Three years later, the Gaza Strip has recorded more than 74,000 deaths, including at least 20,000 children. Tens of thousands have been injured, while more than one million people have been displaced, with the UN accusing Israel of genocide against the Palestinians.

The entire enclave has been turned into a vast, flattened wasteland…

1,096 days later, and despite the ceasefire agreement that went into effect on October 11 of last year, Israeli operations and attacks in Gaza continue, as the issues of Hamas’s disarmament, Israel’s withdrawal, and the governance and reconstruction of Gaza remain unresolved.

“We witnessed death, destruction, and bombings—situations we had never experienced before.”
A Gaza resident.

At 6:29 a.m. this morning—the exact time three years ago when Hamas launched its invasion—in southern Israel, people stood at attention, and vehicles came to a standstill, observed a minute of silence in memory of those lost to the terrorists’ barbaric rampage.

In Reims, at the site where the Nova Festival had been turned into a scene of carnage on that dark Saturday morning, relatives and friends of the 370 victims, with tears in their eyes, paid their respects before the portraits of their loved ones.

“Hamas tried to break us. It didn’t succeed. It changed us. It wounded us. It left us with scars that will never completely fade, but it didn’t break us.”
Danny Danon, Israeli Ambassador to the UN

October 7, 2023, marked the beginning of a series of events that radically reshaped the balance of power in the Middle East, overturning decades-old military and political realities. The conflict brought Israel and Iran into direct military confrontation, with repercussions extending from Gaza and Beirut to the Strait of Hormuz, affecting not only regional security but also international energy flows, prices, and the global economy.
