The Houthis launched attacks today against “sensitive locations" in the capital, Riyadh, and against facilities belonging to the Saudi oil giant Aramco in the port city of Yanbu, on the Red Sea, announced Yahya Sari, the military spokesman for the Yemeni movement.
Loud explosions were heard in the Saudi Arabian capital overnight from Friday into Saturday, according to Agence France-Presse reporters. Flames and black smoke appeared to be rising near the Riyadh airport, according to residents. Earlier at noon, an Agence France-Presse reporter reported that an Aramco fuel tank located near the international airport in the Saudi capital.

“The Yemeni armed forces successfully carried out two military operations using a large number of ballistic and cruise missiles and drones,” Sari said in a statement posted on Telegram.
“The first targeted sensitive sites in the Saudi Arabian capital, Riyadh, and the second targeted Aramco facilities in Yanbu,” he added.
The spokesperson noted that these attacks were carried out in response to Saudi Arabia’s “ongoing aggression” in Yemen and its “criminal attempts (…) to target the capital, Sana’a,” a city under Houthi control
Meanwhile, military sources from both sides of the conflict in Yemen told the French Press Agency earlier today that fighting in the southern part of the country between Saudi-backed government forces and the pro-Iranian Houthis have left 48 people dead in the last 24 hours.
According to government military sources, 17 soldiers were killed, while the Houthis reported that 31 of their fighters were killed.
