At least seven people were killed and 24 others were injured in an attack by Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) against a logistics center in a small town in western Russia, while the capital, Moscow, and its surrounding region were targeted by attacks from hundreds of drones.
“Seven night-shift workers were killed when enemy drones struck a Wildberries logistics center,” a Russian giant in the sector, regional governor Yevgeny Pervysov reported via Telegram, adding that the attack in Katovsk injured another 24 people.
Ukraine has intensified its attacks on Russian territory in recent months, primarily targeting logistics infrastructure or facilities related to hydrocarbons in an effort to cut off funding for Moscow’s war.
According to the official, a fire broke out at the facility that was hit but has been brought under control, while firefighting crews continue to operate at the scene.
More than 370 unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) were launched overnight toward the Moscow region, the mayor of the Russian capital announced today.
“Starting at 8:30 p.m., more than 370 drones flew toward the Moscow region. Most were shot down by air defense systems while they were still far away. Sixty-four enemy drones were destroyed as they approached Moscow itself,” Mayor Sergei Sobyanin wrote in a post on Telegram.
