Hezbollah MP Hassan Fadlallah stated on Friday evening that the Lebanese authorities will not be able to implement the agreement framework agreement they signed with Israel in Washington unless, with U.S. support, “they are driven into a civil war,” according to the Al Mayadeen television channel.
Fadlallah stated that Hezbollah will oppose any measures taken by the Lebanese authorities and will hold on to its weapons even more firmly, adding that the organization’s opposition is “serious” and that it will not allow the authorities to implement their commitments on the ground.
According to the lawmaker, “what happened in Washington was an attempt to undermine” the “Islamabad process,” that is, the Iran–U.S. agreement brokered by Pakistan.
He added that “without the resistance (i.e., Hezbollah), nothing will go through.”
