Preparations are in full swing in Ankara ahead of the NATO Summit on July 7 and 8, while Turkish media are releasing the first details about the itinerary of U.S. President Donald Trump, as well as the agenda for his talks with his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
According to reports from Turkish media, the U.S. president is expected to arrive in the Turkish capital on July 7, accompanied by a large U.S. delegation, which has already begun security preparations and operational planning for the visit.
The itinerary calls for Donald Trump’s first official stop to be at Anıtkabir, the mausoleum of the founder of modern Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, where he will pay his respects. He will then proceed to the Presidential Palace, where President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will welcome him with an official ceremony.
The same sources report that following the welcoming ceremony, a one-on-one meeting between the two leaders will take place, followed by expanded talks between the delegations, covering a range of issues of bilateral and regional interest. Once the talks are concluded, the two presidents may issue joint statements, and the signing of cooperation agreements cannot be ruled out.
In parallel with the NATO Summit, the Defense Industry Forum will take place on July 7 at the ATO Congresium, with the participation of NATO officials, government representatives, and leading companies in the defense sector. The goal of the event is to promote new partnerships and defense procurement programs.
