The Russian and Ukrainian authorities are currently discussing a new, “fairly large-scale” prisoner exchange, said Russian Human Rights Commissioner Yana Landratava, according to a telegram released today by the official TASS news agency.
Thousands of prisoners have been exchanged since the war broke out with the Russian army’s invasion of Ukrainian territory more than four and a half years ago, in February 2022.
An agreement reached in May that allowed for the exchange of some 1,000 prisoners of war was described as one of the few tangible results of the talks between Moscow and Kyiv, mediatedthe U.S.
