At least 12 people, including three children, were killed today in a Russian airstrike in Zaporizhzhia, a city in southern Ukraine, one day after U.S. President Donald Trump announced an agreement to lift sanctions on Russian diesel (diesel fuel). This development is seen as a serious blow to Kyiv.
A six-year-old girl was among the victims when a strike destroyed part of the apartment complex where she lived.
“Today, Russia said ‘thank you’ for lifting sanctions on diesel exports by dropping five glide bombs on residential buildings in Zaporizhzhia,” said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, sharply criticizing the White House.
