Tensions are rising in the Middle East following new U.S. strikes on Iran and a warning from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of a “devastating” response. An alert was issued in Bahrain, while Kuwait announced operations to intercept incoming drones and missiles.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that a U.S. cruise missile struck the Ak Taka Khan Bridge in the city of Akala in Golestan Province, northern Iran, according to the Fars News Agency.
The local branch of the Revolutionary Guards in Golestan reported that there were no casualties from the strike, but warned that Tehran’s response would be “devastating.”

The IRGC’s announcement came after reports of U.S. attacks on railway infrastructure in northern Iran, a development that further intensifies the standoff between Washington and Tehran.
Air raid sirens in Bahrain following threats from Tehran
Air raid sirens sounded early Thursday morning in Bahrain, according to an announcement by the country’s Ministry of Interior.
The alarm was triggered after the Revolutionary Guards warned that Iran would respond to U.S. strikes against the Islamic Republic.
“The siren has been activated,” Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior stated in a post on Platform X, urging citizens and residents “to remain calm and head to the nearest safe location”.
Kuwait Intercepts Drones and Missiles
So far, there have been no immediate reports of damage in the three Arab Gulf countries.
The Kuwaiti military announced that it is in the process of intercepting incoming drones and missiles, as the region remains on high alert.
On Wednesday, Iran launched attacks against Bahrain and Kuwait in response to U.S. airstrikes on Iranian targets.
