The Israeli armed forces announced that they targeted “numerous terrorists” today in the Jenin area,in the northern part of the occupied West Bank, in a rare Israeli military strike against this Palestinian territory.
“A short while ago, the IDF (Israeli Defense Forces) carried out a targeted strike against terrorists in the Jenin area. More information will follow,” the army stated in a brief announcement.

Israeli airstrikes in the West Bank have been somewhat rare in recent years.
A military source told the Israeli media outlet *Times of Israel* that a drone strike in Jenin targeted the leader of a Palestinian “terrorist” cell and two of his accomplices. The strike specifically targeted the vehicle in which they were traveling.
Between October 7, 2023, the day of Hamas’s deadly attack on southern Israel and the subsequent outbreak of war in the Gaza Strip, and early 2025, the Israeli armed forces carried out more than 100 airstrikes in the West Bank, primarily using drones and helicopters.
Since then, Israeli airstrikes in the West Bank have been rare.
