European Council President Antonio Costa and British Prime Minister Andy Burnham arrived in Kyiv today to take part in the celebrations marking the 35th anniversary of, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Shybikha announced.
Among the European leaders visiting Kyiv are Luxembourg Prime Minister Lick Friden, Moldovan President Maia Sandu, and Estonian President Alar Karis, Sibicha wrote on X, posting photos of the officials arriving at the train station in the Ukrainian capital.
Meanwhile, the European Commission today approved an additional 6.1 billion euros for Ukraine to help the country strengthen its defense by procuring air defense systems, missiles, ammunition, and radar systems.

The EU noted that this new aid package is in addition to the 16 billion euros it has already approved for the war-torn country, of which 8.35 billion euros have already been disbursed to Ukraine.
“As Russia intensifies its attacks, we are taking action to help Ukraine protect its people and defend its airspace. Europe stands with Ukraine, and we will provide whatever it needs, whenever it needs it,” said European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
