Authorities arrested a 19-year-old in connection with the shooting that took place on Saturday morning at Virginia State University, resulting in injuries to five people between the ages of 17 and 23. One of the injured is in critical condition, while the motive for the attack remains unknown at this time.
The suspect has been identified as Camron Harris, 19, of Henrico, Virginia.

According to authorities, Harris is not a student at the university. Of the five people injured in the shooting, four are also not students at the university.
The injured range in age from 17 to 23, and their identities have not been released.
The only student from the university among the injured received medical treatment and was subsequently discharged from the hospital.
One of the other injured individuals remains hospitalized in critical condition.
Eight warrants issued against him
Police have secured eight felony warrants against the 19-year-old, including charges of malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Harris was taken to the Chesterfield County Jail and is being held without bail, according to WTVR.
Authorities clarified that additional charges may be filed against him as the investigation continues.
The university had announced earlier on Saturday that police were searching for several suspects in connection with the shooting.
However, as of Saturday evening, the police had not provided any further information regarding the search for other individuals or whether they believed there were other perpetrators.
So far, no information has been released regarding the possible motive for the attack.
Lockdown at the university has been lifted
Following the shooting, a lockdown was imposed on the Virginia State University campus.
University officials later announced that, according to security forces’ assessments, there was no longer an immediate threat to the university community, and the restrictions were lifted.
The investigation into the exact circumstances surrounding the shooting, the motive, and the possible involvement of other individuals is ongoing.
