A Russian drone attack on a bus in the city of Kherson, located on the front lines in southern Ukraine, resulted in the deaths of four people and left four others injured, the regional prosecutor’s office announced.
Russian forces regularly carry out attacks on the city—which was under Moscow’s control from March through November 2022 — using drones, which Ukraine characterizes as the deliberate targeting of civilians.
“Russian military forces attacked a bus traveling on a road in Kherson with a drone. As a result of the attack, according to preliminary information, four civilian passengers were killed,” the prosecutor’s office said in a statement.

It added that four more people were injured.
Earlier this month, Ukraine accused Russia of targeting a man at an open-air market in Kherson using a remote-controlled FPV drone, describing the practice as a “safari” targeting civilians.
The city had a population of approximately 280,000 before the war.
Russian forces, which were pushed out of the city during a Ukrainian counteroffensive in the fall of 2022, are now on the opposite bank of the Dnieper River, which runs through the Kherson region.
The United Nations has reported that in 2026 there has been an increase in civilian deaths in the conflict, as the war—which has now lasted four and a half years— continues with no peace agreement in sight.
