The international airport in Aden (south), in the city where the seat of Yemen’s internationally recognized government has been relocated, was targeted in an attack launched by the Yemeni rebel movement Ansar Allah —also known by the surname of its leaders’ family, the Houthis—which is aligned with Iran, using missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles, the government news agency SABA reported early this morning.
“Houthi paramilitary terrorists targeted Aden International Airport with two ballistic missiles and drones carrying explosives,” the source said via X.
A missile was intercepted north of Riyadh
The Saudi-led military coalition, which supports Yemen’s internationally recognized government, announced early this morning that it had intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile north of Riyadh that had been launched by the Yemeni rebel movement Ansar Allah —also known by the surname of its leaders, the Houthis—which is aligned with Iran.
“A ballistic missile launched by the Houthi terrorist paramilitary organization was intercepted and destroyed north of Riyadh,” said coalition spokesman Saudi Colonel Nouri al-Maliki via X. He added that the process of locating “the launch platform” for the missile “using the coalition’s intelligence-gathering system in the skies over Sana’a” had begun and that “we will destroy it.”
