Nearly 2,300 people have died as a result of the two powerful earthquakes, measuring 7.2 and 7.5 on the Richter scale, that struck Venezuela on June 24, according to the latest figures released today by Parliament Speaker Jorge Rodríguez.

Specifically, according to the report, at least 2,295 people have died, while 11,267 have been injured.
However, there are fears that the death toll will rise dramatically, as the number of missing persons is estimated at approximately 50,000.
Earlier today, Venezuela’s interim president, Delcy Rodríguez, declared seven days of national mourning.
