Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said he expects an official response on Tuesday from the United States to Tehran's proposal to open the Strait of Hormuz,, according to state media.
“The Qatari mediators presented ideas, and we discussed them. They are going to raise the issue again with the American side, after which the U.S. final response will be forwarded to us,” Araghchi said late Monday.
The Iranian foreign minister, who is in New York for the UN General Assembly, said that “the Qataris hope this will happen by tomorrow.”
