The death toll from the devastating flood that struck Nepal on Wednesday near the border with China has reached 939, according to the latest preliminary report from the country’s authorities, while the number of people missing has decreased slightly to 3,925 from the previous count.
The landslide caused by the floods also affected the neighboring region of Tibet in China, where 16 people have been confirmed dead so far, while 546 people are missing.
In total, the preliminary death toll from the disaster in both countries stands at 955, and the number of missing is estimated at 4,471.
