U.S. President Donald Trump emphasized that Russian President Vladimir Putin “has no intention of attacking” NATO, commenting on the armed drone detected at the Leipzig airport, for which Germany blames Moscow.
“I spoke to him. I know him very well. Putin is not looking to attack NATO territory,” the U.S. president emphasized while speaking to reporters in the Oval Office.
Trump also mentioned that his two special envoys, Steve Whitecoff and Jared Kushner, would travel to Russia and Ukraine to present a proposal to end the war. “We sent them to see if we can get things moving, and there’s a good chance we’ll succeed,” he added.
