At least eight people, including four children, were injured in a shooting that took place in Coney Island, Brooklyn, in New York, late Saturday night, the New York City Police Department announced.
Police were notified of a shooting incident at approximately 10:37 p.m. (local time, 5:37 a.m. Cyprus time), the statement added, as reported by ABC News.
Among the injured are two young women, two men, and four boys aged 14, 12, 7, and 6.
“The victims were transported to local hospitals,” the New York Police Department noted, clarifying that seven of the injured are in “stable condition” and only one 21-year-old woman is in “critical condition.”
The police noted that they found a firearm at the scene of the incident but have not made any arrests at this time.
