Powerful explosions occurred yesterday, Friday, at a military base in the Viaca region, near the Bolivian capital, killing at least two people and injuring about 60 others, according to a preliminary report from local authorities.
The death toll may rise, as at least seven people are still missing, according to a police spokesperson.

A health official speaking to the Noticias Bolivisión network put the death toll at 10–15.
The explosions in Viacha—a city of 100,000 residents, located about 30 kilometers from La Paz—occurred around 2:30 p.m. (local time, 9:30 p.m. in Cyprus) and were captured on video footage broadcast by Bolivian media outlets.
