Three people were killed and five were injured in a shooting at San Jose National High School in Tacloban, Philippines, on Monday morning, with one of the two alleged suspects now in custody, authorities announced.
The shooting occurred around 9 a.m. (local time) on school grounds. Police reported that one of the suspects, a minor with a lengthy criminal record, was arrested shortly after the incident, while another suspect remains at large.
According to an initial report from the local police department, officers responded immediately upon receiving reports of the shooting. They confirmed that eight people were struck by gunfire. Three victims died, while five others were injured and rushed to medical facilities for treatment.
Authorities have not yet released the identities of the victims.
A manhunt is underway to locate and arrest the second suspect.
