Four members of the six-member Political Bureau and co-founders of the Democratic National Movement (DEK) Andreas Themistocleous.
In their statement, Nikos Charalambous, Vice President of DEK; Prokopis Prokopiou, Vice President of DEK; Marios Thrasyvoulou, General Secretary of DEK, and Andreas Sotiriou, General Organizational Secretary of DEK, state that they reaffirm their commitment to the founding principles, values, and goals for which the Movement was created.

As stated in the announcement, Mr. Themistokleous “no longer has our support,” since, according to the signatories, “his arbitrary, capricious, and non-transparent actions, in violation of what was agreed upon, have permanently severed any relationship of trust and cooperation.”
The signatories also note that as of May 25, 2026, the DEK has no press spokesperson, adding that the Movement is represented by its competent collective bodies when they meet and make relevant decisions.
According to the same announcement, the Democratic National Movement has no salaried staff.
