As of today, five Greek Cypriots and five Turkish Cypriots make up the newly formed Coordinating Committee of the Civil Society Advisory Body, the establishment and operation of which were agreed upon during yesterday’s meeting between the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, and Turkish Cypriot leader Tufan Erhurman.
The members of the Coordinating Committee from the Greek Cypriot side are:
- Pantelis Poietis
- Alexandros Lordos
- Amalia Avraam
- Sophia Papamichalopoulos
- Marios Michaelides

The members of the Coordinating Committee from the Turkish Cypriot side are:
- Ipek Borman
- Errol Kaimak
- Meltem Onurkan Samani
- Arif Osum
- Cian Dogan Ozkan
Borman is an academic and is already a member of the Turkish Cypriot leader’s Cyprus team; Kaymak is an academic and economist; Samani participates in numerous bicommunal initiatives and at the Center for Peace and Dialogue, and previously served on technical committees, Osum works on strategic communication issues and EU programs, and Ozkan, a political scientist, is a member of the Turkish Cypriot Youth Federation. The latter two are young and are also involved in bicommunal initiatives.
Government Spokesperson Konstantinos Letympiotis said that “the Advisory Body can serve as an additional channel for communication and creative contribution by civil society to the ongoing effort.”
