A new humanitarian aid shipment weighing 900 metric tons departed from Cyprus for Gaza as part of the ongoing implementation of the Amalthea Plan. The shipment includes medicines, medical equipment, hygiene supplies, food, and shelter supplies.
The mission is being carried out in close cooperation with the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), under the oversight mechanism established by the relevant UN Security Council Resolution 2720, and the United Arab Emirates, as well as the necessary operational coordination with the parties directly involved.
Various states, international organizations, and humanitarian organizations are assisting in the delivery of aid, including the French Republic, the Slovak Republic, the State of Kuwait, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the World Health Organization (WHO), World Central Kitchen, All Hands and Hearts, and Project Hope.
In this context, Cyprus continues to serve as a stable hub for the collection, storage, secure screening, inspection, and dispatch of humanitarian aid, which is transshipped for delivery and distribution to Gaza via the port of Ashdod.
It should be noted that, to date, since the maritime humanitarian corridor began operating, more than 37,000 metric tons of aid have been shipped and delivered to the civilian population of Gaza.
