A particularly important visit appears to be scheduled to take place in Cyprus on October 29.
Specifically, according to information obtained by Alpha Cyprus from diplomatic circles, Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas is coming to Nicosia on October 29.
It is a visit that, it must be said, aims to send important messages both within and outside Cyprus.
On the one hand, to Turkey, since even today the leader of the Grey Wolves, Devlet Bahçeli, referred to the Republic of Cyprus as “Israel’s outpost.” Thus, Abbas’s visit refutes this position in the eyes of the international community as well.
It should be noted that this visit is already sparking debate in Turkey. At the same time, however, it sends a message both domestically and in response to accusations leveled against the government that it fully endorses Israeli policy against Palestine. This criticism comes mainly from AKEL.
