The Greek Foreign Minister refuted these claims, explaining Greece’s position as he arrived at the Informal Meeting of EU Defense Ministers in Dublin.
“Following yesterday’s signing of the contract for the anti-aircraft, anti-drone, and anti-ballistic ‘Dome,’ Greece is establishing a production base on European soil and the capability to address these threats.” Nikos Dendias, Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs
Cooperation with Far-Reaching Implications
Israel’s new ambassador to Athens commented on the agreement today.
“Israeli defense technologies have proven effective in real combat conditions and will help protect Greek airspace from potential threats.” Pnina Yanai, Israeli Ambassador to Athens
The defense systems company Rafael—which is a party to the agreement—welcomed the developments by posting an impressive video—which was created with the help of artificial intelligence. In the video, the “Sling of David” transforms into a missile that intercepts enemy threats. This company is behind the systems already used by Israel for its own Iron Dome.
At the same time, Israeli media report that Turkey has no right to object to the partnerships Tel Aviv is forming, since Turkey itself is attempting to expand its influence in Syria, as well as in countries seeking to destabilize the Middle East.
