Andri Hatzandreou is now officially the new Deputy Mayor of Aglantzia, having secured a majority of the votes from the residents.
The special election was held on Sunday, June 28, following the election of former Deputy Mayor Andreas Konstantinou to the position of Member of Parliament.
Once the votes were tallied, Andri Hatzandreou was elected as the new Deputy Mayor, receiving 2,309 votes, or 55.49%.

Andri Hatzandreou is 44 years old and a native of Aglantzia.
She is a solo pianist and holds a Ph.D. in Music (Piano Performance) from Royal Holloway, University of London, as well as a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Music (Piano Performance) from Rutgers University (USA). She also holds a Master’s degree in Education, Leadership, and Management from CIIM.
In 2025, she was honored with the “Madame Figaro Cyprus – Woman of the Year” Award in the Musician category. Her artistic and academic career includes an extensive concert schedule, numerous accolades, and collaborations with renowned artists in Europe and the United States.
She taught in the Music Departments at Rutgers University and the University of Nicosia, and since 2007 has been teaching in the Ministry of Education’s “Music School” program. Since 2018, she has been collaborating with the Center for Cultural Intelligence (U.S.) as a certified trainer. Since 2022, she has been working at the University of Limassol as Director of the Center for Equality and Inclusion, while also serving as communications coordinator for the Department of Marketing. Since 2024, she has served as a national representative to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO—Organizational Governance).
She is a founding member and President of the cultural organizations Arts Embrace and Curious Qat, working tirelessly to promote culture and establish the profession of the artist. She served as a staff member on Andreas Mavrogiannis’s campaign team (2023) and as head of Andreas Assiotis’s campaign team (2024). She is a member of the Social Alliance.
As a union activist with PASEU-PEO and as an employee representative in the Ministry of Education’s support programs, she played a decisive role in the legal battles to abolish the privatization of educational services.
She served as General Secretary of the Board of Directors of the “Cyprus Symphony Orchestra” Foundation and worked as a Cultural Officer for the European “Creative Europe” Program – Cyprus Office.
