"I am deeply shocked by the maritime tragedy in occupied Kyrenia, in which eight people died and twenty passengers are missing from the ill-fated catamaran that sank at sea," says former DISY President Averof Neophytou.
In a post on Platform X, he notes that “each of us, watching these tragic events unfold, cannot help but feel the pain and anguish of our fellow human beings.”
He also commented on the messages of racism and intolerance expressed in online comments, paraphrasing the words of Martin Luther King Jr. that “We must learn to live together as brothers, or we will die as fools.”

There aren’t many words to say.
