“Today I am announcing my decision to ask my fellow candidates in the Democratic Alarm for their vote of confidence for the 2028 presidential election.”
After a month of speculation and insinuations, and a frenzy of behind-the-scenes activity surrounding his persona and his true intentions, Averof Neophytou has secured his place on the DISY ballot for the party’s internal elections. Without beating around the bush this time, he appeals to all DISY members in a three-minute video set against the backdrop of the abandoned project in Vasilikos. He highlights DISY’s contributions to the region while seeking to build bridges with other political forces, despite the fact that he has not yet received the party’s nomination.
“The Democratic Rally plays a decisive role, given all we have achieved for our region during difficult times. Together with its members, I have fought common battles and shared both successes and disappointments. Let us strive for change in the country’s governance through political cooperation, giving a voice to civil society. ”
He intends to create a social contract, and acknowledges that for this to be translated into action, DISY must move forward united. “Let
us listen, act, and be accountable. This commitment will guide our efforts to unite our party and earn the trust of society. ”
A campaign based on three pillars: accuracy, the rising cost of living, the challenges facing young people, and the Cyprus issue.
The background…
The video was prepared yesterday, with Averof Neophytou teasing its release with a cryptic post in which he spoke of a very important day. The choice of the photo in the background was by no means random. He chose the terminal at Vasilikos as a “phantom project” that remains unfinished, with serious ripple effects on energy and the economy for citizens.
As he himself told Alpha, he wants to convey the message that we need a government that excels at completing projects and reducing energy costs.
“To put into practice the changes our country needs. To give our young people hope and a future once again. That is my responsibility.”
