Athens Welcomes Fito's Appointment: "It Reflects the EU's Strong Commitment"

The appointment of Executive Vice President Raffaele Fito as the European Commission’s Special Representative for Cyprus reflects the EU’s strong commitment to supporting the initiatives of the UN Secretary-General, according to the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Welcoming the appointment, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a post on the “X” platform, stated that this reflects the European Union’s strong commitment to supporting UN-led initiatives for a just, sustainable, and viable solution, in accordance with the relevant Security Council Resolutions and the acquis communautaire of the European Union, for the benefit of all Cypriots.”
