MEP Geadis Geadi took action and lodged a complaint, denouncing the holding of a soccer training camp by the Spanish soccer academy of Barcelona in the occupied territories.

A statement from the MEP’s press office notes that, once again, the National Popular Front (ELAM) took the lead.

“From the very beginning, we called for the Spanish government to intervene to cancel the planned camp, as well as for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to take the necessary steps to cancel both events. However, we did not stop at mere words and public posturing.”

As reported, ELAM MEP Mr. Geadis Geadi, always in consultation with ELAM President Christos Christou, sent a letter to the Government of Spain, the Spanish Embassy in Cyprus, the Permanent Representation of Spain in Brussels, and the soccer team itself, demanding that the event be canceled. In addition, he contacted Spanish Members of the European Parliament from the ECR and the Patriots, specifically Diego Solier and Jorge Buxadé.

“Late yesterday afternoon, Mr. Jorge Buxadé, a member of the Spanish party VOX, contacted ELAM MEP Mr. Geadis, and informed him that the association’s leadership had announced it would proceed, within the next few days, with the cancellation of the event, while also conveying its apology for the incident,” it adds.

“The National Popular Front (ELAM) has proven once again that, through hard work and dedication, we can achieve the desired results for our homeland. This new, significant success thwarts yet another insidious attempt by the occupying authorities to exploit international events to elevate the status of the pseudo-state. We congratulate the Government on its prompt response and actions; we thank all those who worked to secure this latest cancellation, as well as the team’s management for its willingness to cooperate.»

“This latest success comes just a few days after the decisive intervention by the National Popular Front (ELAM) to cancel the music event titled “Nexus,” which was scheduled to take place in our occupied territories—specifically, at Kyrenia Castle—with the participation of EXIT,” he concludes.
