In response to criticism of the short video she “posted” on social media, showing the outfit she chose to wear in the Plenary Session of Parliament, was given by “Direct Democracy” MP Diana Konstantinidi, a member of the “Direct Democracy” party,
As she explained, this is a “feature” she will post weekly on her personal social media accounts with the aim of sending a message to citizens to support the local economy and choose Cypriot products. At the same time, she noted that the products are purchased with her own money, specifically stating that:
“Everything is paid for; I don’t want any favors, and I don’t want anyone to owe me anything.”
When asked about the public call for police officers to guard him and the appeal to submit résumés issued by the head of Immediate Democracy, Fidias Panagiotou, Ms. Konstantinidi replied that it was done with good intentions and in the spirit of transparency and keeping the public regularly informed about the party’s activities. She also said that since Direct Democracy is in the process of filling job positions, something similar will happen again.
