The Political Bureau of the Democratic Party met today to discuss, as its sole agenda item, the Party’s process of reorganization and revitalization.
According to a related announcement, the President of the Democratic Movement, Mr. Marios Karoyan, briefed the members of the Political Bureau on the plan currently underway, with particular emphasis on further strengthening the party’s organizational structure and on the major effort to reconnect the party with its grassroots, its leadership, its members, and society.
The members of the Political Bureau had the opportunity to present their views and recommendations regarding the necessary actions that must be set in motion, both at the central and provincial levels, as part of an organized and collective effort.
Among other things, it was agreed to reactivate the Party’s Policy Development Groups, the establishment of Sectoral Organizations, as well as the strengthening of the role and presence of the Women’s Organization and the Youth Organization.
In this context, the Political Bureau unanimously decided to appoint Mr. Renos Koumis to the position of Secretary of Local Government for the Democratic Party, with the responsibility of ensuring better coordination and more effective communication with the Party’s elected local officials throughout Cyprus.
