On the fifth floor of the Democratic Alarm’s Central Offices, in the office of party President Annita Dimitriou, an emergency meeting convened by Ms. Dimitriou, following the heated confrontation that erupted between Deputy Chair Euthymios Diplaros and Vice Chair Yiannis Karousos.
With their sights set on the 2028 presidential election—which appears to be the root cause of the hostile atmosphere prevailing at Pindarou— Ms. Dimitriou and the party leadership will attempt to calm tensions and put an end to the Diplaros-Karousos feud.
Upon arriving at the meeting, Efthymios Diplaros and Giannis Karousos appeared before the crew of the “Alpha Enimerosi” program and journalist Iakovos Iakovos, eager to put an end to the dispute so that peace and unity could prevail within the Democratic Alarm.
“We’re doing just fine in the Democratic Alarm; we have our differences, just like in any large family, but we’re moving forward united.” DIPLAROS
“Everything’s fine; certainly, things could be better. We talked, we worked things out, and above all, we’re focused on party unity to win the elections.” KAROUSOS
The party’s Parliamentary Spokesperson, Dimitris Dimitriou, and MP Savvia Orfanidou drew on their sense of humor to respond that “in the end, everything will turn out fine” and “everything will go to the right,” respectively. DISY’s legal advisor, Chris Triantafyllides, was laconic, saying, “No comment; in any case, I’m going to the session, and it wouldn’t be right for me to take a position.”
